IMS Build 42: Stronger Reporting, Smoother Lab Workflows, and Comprehensive Data Tracking

January 30, 2026
What's New In IMS Build 42?

When a workflow that used to feel efficient starts to feel like a burden, it is a clear sign that your technology needs to evolve. At Meditab, we believe your software should adapt to the increasing demands of modern medicine.

That is the philosophy behind our latest release: IMS Build 42. Benefit from stronger reporting, smoother lab workflows, and comprehensive data tracking with this update. These enhancements will let your operations blossom into self-sufficient automated workflows.

We understand the healthcare challenges, such as data silos, incomplete patient forms, and communication gaps in lab results. We came up with specific solutions for each of them so they don’t get in the way of the care you provide.

Explore Enhancements in IMS Build 42

Collection Follow-up Report

No more incomplete tracking and missing details in your Billing and RCM!

IMS Build 42 introduces six in-depth Collection Follow-up Reports to help track collection follow-ups added at the Claim, Insurance, and Patient levels, including entries with zero balances or overpayments.

One of the most significant improvements in this build is the ability to track entries with zero balances or overpayments. By including these details, the IMS payment collection tracking system ensures that no dollar is left unaccounted for. This level of healthcare collection management boosts operational efficiency, allowing your billing team to prevent errors before they impact your bottom line.

These improvements boost operational efficiency, allow comprehensive tracking, and help prevent billing errors.

Portal Forms Import Notification

Patient check-ins are easier and smoother!

The check-in process sets the tone for the entire patient visit. When front-desk staff have to manually hunt for missing paperwork, it creates bottlenecks and frustrates patients.

With the new portal form import notification feature, patient check-ins are now easier and more intuitive. Within the Check-In/Out window, a dedicated icon will now flag patients whose portal forms must be imported before their check-in can be completed.

This visual cue allows your staff to determine at a glance whether forms are pending or ready for import. By ensuring all data is integrated before the patient even leaves the waiting room, you create a seamless and organized experience. This innovation is more than just a notification: it is a tool for automating healthcare workflows that ensures your data remains accurate and up to date.

Lab Workflow Improvements

Lab communications just got clearer!

Clear communication is the backbone of successful
lab workflows. In the past, using a single note field for both internal staff and patients often led to confusion or cluttered records.

IMS Build 42 introduces healthcare lab workflow optimization through a dual-note system.

1. Internal Notes: Staff can now use a new internal note feature to communicate regarding lab orders. These notes include automatic timestamps, creating a reliable audit trail for your team.

2. Patient-Facing Notes: Clinics can now add personalized instructions that are visible to the patient on the IMS Care platform.

By separating these two communication streams, we have eliminated the need for back-and-forth phone calls. Patients stay informed with clear instructions, and clinic staff can collaborate effectively without compromising the patient’s view of their medical record.

Why Upgrade to IMS Build 42?

Every update in Build 42 was developed in response to feedback from providers like you. We understand that minor inconveniences in a software interface can lead to major frustrations.

These IMS Build 42 updates are not just about adding new buttons: they are about providing noticeable relief to you and your staff. Whether it is the clarity of a billing report or the speed of a patient check-in, these enhancements ensure you get the most out of your IMS investment.

The latest build is ready to help your practice achieve more with fewer clicks. By eliminating friction from revenue cycle and lab management, we are helping you build a more resilient, efficient practice.
