Meditab Software Offers MyWay Users an Alternative to "More of the Same" EMR Services
Oakland, Calif. – October 11, 2012 – With the recent announcement that further sales and development of Allscripts MyWay™ has been halted and that the system will not be Meaningful Use Stage 2, 5010 or ICD-10 compliant, customers are being redirected to the Allscripts Professional product. Although an alternative option has been presented via Aprima (formally iMedica), it is important for MyWay users to know that this is not their only option, and may not be the best one for them, considering Aprima and MyWay are developed on the same platform.
With less than six hours’ notice, thousands of MyWay customers and reseller partners were forced to re-evaluate their EMR/EHR software, looking for ways to mitigate the impact this massive change will have on their practices and patients. Meditab Software, a leader in the EHR industry, is stepping up to the plate with its “MyGration” Program.
“MyWay has always been the loss-leader to the Allscripts Professional product, providing a perceived simple solution to adopting EMR” said Kirk Treasure, vice president of sales and marketing for Meditab Software. “So whether customers choose to continue with the Allscripts migration, move to Aprima or take advantage of lessons-learned and find a different system altogether, the cancellation is a blessing in disguise because it puts control back in the hands of the practice owners.”
With 50 percent of medical practices already using an EHR looking to replace their current system (according to a recent KLAS report), perhaps there is a silver lining to this forced software change. Meditab believes that this solution shift by Allscripts presents an opportunity for a large number of practices and VARs who were less than thrilled with the performance and support of MyWay, to explore their options; after all, no matter how similar the most recent version of Aprima is, or how highly functional the Allscripts Pro product may be, it will require re-training, re-customization, re-working of interfaces etc., for both customers and VARs. Aprima states that there are only 1000 changes to the 2008 MyWay, but how many different changes did Allscripts make?
Meditab is extending a special program to displaced MyWay customers and resellers. Those who opt to take advantage of the Meditab “MyGration” Program will receive the following:
- A more complete, inclusive and user friendly solution in IMS™
- Live support available 24/7
- Live training and implementation
- Faster, more reliable system access and connectivity
- No licensing cost
"We have already begun to work with both MyWay customers and VARs who feel they have been abandoned and we’re confident that we can support those practices looking for a new and better solution,” added Treasure.
