“Meaningful Use” incentive payments

(BSHC) in Kentucky is among the first in the country to receive HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health) incentive payment for the adoption of an electronic medical records system to achieve “meaningful use”.

Big Sandy has received an incentive payment from the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services in the amount of $170,000, with an additional $85,000 expected in the upcoming weeks; for a total of $255,000 in reimbursements for Q1′2011. What is most impressive is that Big Sandy has implemented IMS™ v.14, an ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 and CCHIT 2011 Certified EHR, and achieved “meaningful use” compliance standards within the first year of going “live” on the system.
